Accessibility
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Contact accessibility@grouppracticeguide.com for issues.
Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard referenced by courts in ADA Title III litigation and adopted by the U.S. Department of Justice as the benchmark for digital accessibility. This is not just a legal obligation — it is the right thing to do. Approximately 26% of American adults live with a disability, and we are committed to ensuring our directory is usable by everyone.
Technical measures implemented
Perceivable (WCAG Principle 1)
- All images and icons include
aria-hidden="true"for decorative images, or descriptivearia-labelattributes for informational icons - Color contrast ratios meet or exceed 4.5:1 for all normal text (WCAG 1.4.3)
- Color contrast ratios meet or exceed 3:1 for all large text and UI components (WCAG 1.4.11)
- Color is never the sole means of conveying information — badges, status indicators, and compact dots include text labels or aria-labels (WCAG 1.4.1)
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality (WCAG 1.4.4)
- No minimum font size below 11px is used for readable content
- The site reflows responsively on mobile without horizontal scrolling at 320px width (WCAG 1.4.10)
Operable (WCAG Principle 2)
- All functionality is accessible via keyboard alone — no mouse required (WCAG 2.1.1)
- No keyboard traps — users can navigate to and away from all components (WCAG 2.1.2)
- A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page (WCAG 2.4.1)
- All interactive elements — buttons, links, form fields, cards — display a clearly visible focus indicator with 3:1 contrast ratio in focused vs. unfocused state (WCAG 2.4.7)
- Focus is never hidden behind overlapping content (WCAG 2.4.11)
- Page title is descriptive and unique (WCAG 2.4.2)
- Focus order follows a logical reading sequence (WCAG 2.4.3)
- Links and buttons have descriptive text — no "click here" or "read more" labels (WCAG 2.4.6)
- No content flashes more than 3 times per second (WCAG 2.3.1)
- Animation respects the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query — all animations are disabled for users who request it (WCAG 2.3.3)
Understandable (WCAG Principle 3)
- The page language is set to English:
<html lang="en">(WCAG 3.1.1) - All form fields have associated
<label>elements oraria-labelattributes (WCAG 3.3.2) - Error messages are descriptive and specific — not just "invalid input" (WCAG 3.3.1)
- Required fields are identified programmatically with the
requiredattribute (WCAG 3.3.2) - Navigation is consistent across all pages (WCAG 3.2.3)
Robust (WCAG Principle 4)
- All HTML uses valid, semantic markup with proper heading hierarchy (h1 → h2 → h3) (WCAG 4.1.1)
- Interactive components use proper ARIA roles:
role="dialog",aria-modal="true",aria-labelledbyon modals (WCAG 4.1.2) - Dynamic content changes are announced to screen readers via
aria-live="polite"regions — including filter results count, form submission confirmations, and toast notifications (WCAG 4.1.3) - Buttons use
<button>elements, not<div>or<span>(WCAG 4.1.2) - Modals trap focus correctly while open and return focus to the triggering element when closed
- The
Escapekey closes all modal dialogs (WCAG 2.1.2) - The site respects
prefers-contrast: high— all borders, text, and UI elements increase in contrast in high-contrast mode
High-contrast mode
GroupPracticeGuide.com detects the operating system's high-contrast preference using the CSS prefers-contrast: high media query. When activated, all borders increase to solid black, all text colors shift to maximum contrast, and decorative visual treatments are removed. This supports users of Windows High Contrast Mode and similar assistive settings.
Screen reader compatibility
This site has been designed for compatibility with the following assistive technologies:
- NVDA + Firefox (Windows)
- JAWS + Chrome (Windows)
- VoiceOver + Safari (macOS and iOS)
- TalkBack + Chrome (Android)
Known limitations and ongoing work
We are aware of the following areas that may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA and are actively working to address them:
- The interactive state map tiles (state boxes) use a grid layout that may not convey geographic relationships to screen reader users. We are evaluating a list-based alternative view.
- Some dynamically generated modal content may require testing with older versions of JAWS. We welcome reports of specific failures.
- The compact dots indicator (colored circles showing compact membership) includes aria-label text but may benefit from additional clarification. A text-based alternative view is planned.
Third-party content
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and icons from the Tabler Icons webfont (via jsDelivr CDN). We cannot guarantee the accessibility of these third-party services but have implemented them in an accessible manner within our control.
Feedback and contact
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of GroupPracticeGuide.com. If you experience accessibility barriers, please let us know:
- Email: accessibility@grouppracticeguide.com
- Response time: We aim to respond within 2 business days and to resolve reported barriers within 10 business days.

Legal basis
This accessibility commitment is made in accordance with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (where applicable), and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, which are the technical standard referenced by courts in ADA website accessibility litigation. This statement was last reviewed and updated on May 9, 2026.
Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure
What is an affiliate relationship?
An affiliate relationship means that if you click a link on this site to a third-party product or service and subsequently make a purchase or complete a sign-up, GroupPracticeGuide.com may receive a referral fee or commission from that company. The price you pay is never affected by whether you use our link.
Which companies do we have affiliate relationships with?
We currently maintain or are pursuing affiliate or referral arrangements with the following types of companies. This list may be updated as new partnerships are established:
- Practice management / EHR software — including but not limited to SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, and Power Diary
- Insurance credentialing and billing platforms — including but not limited to Headway, Alma, Grow Therapy, and Rula
- Professional liability and malpractice insurance providers — including but not limited to Next Insurance and Hiscox
- Continuing education (CE) platforms — including but not limited to CE4Less, Zur Institute, and The Therapist Development Center
When a specific link on this site is an affiliate link, it will be labeled with "(affiliate link)" or an asterisk (*) with a corresponding footnote, or will appear on a page with a prominent disclosure notice near the top.
Does this affect our directory listings?
No. Affiliate relationships do not influence which practices are listed in our directory, how they are ranked, or what information is displayed about them. Practices do not pay to be listed, and no payment from any practice or platform affects the content of a listing. Our affiliate relationships are limited to third-party tools and services that clinicians may find useful — they are completely separate from the practice listing directory.
Why do we use affiliate links?
GroupPracticeGuide.com is a free resource for clinicians. Affiliate commissions help cover the costs of operating and maintaining the directory, researching compact status updates, verifying listings, and building new features. Without revenue from affiliate partnerships or advertising, we could not sustain this site as a free tool.
Our commitment to honest recommendations
We only link to or promote platforms and services that are genuinely relevant to mental health clinicians evaluating group practice employment. We do not accept payment from any company in exchange for editorial endorsement or positive coverage in our directory or on our site. Our opinions and the content of our listings are independent of any financial relationship.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is made in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines concerning the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising, as set forth in 16 C.F.R. Part 255 ("Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising"). If you have questions about our affiliate relationships or this disclosure, contact us at:
Updates to this disclosure
This disclosure will be updated whenever we establish new affiliate or advertising relationships. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
Billing & Refund Policy
1. What we charge for
GroupPracticeGuide.com may charge for the following services:
- Featured listings — paid placement that elevates a practice listing above standard free listings, with a "Verified" or "Featured" badge
- Sponsored placements — practice spotlights or promoted content clearly labeled as sponsored
- Subscription plans — monthly or annual recurring plans for practice owners that bundle multiple features
Browsing, searching, comparing, and using the Compact Checker are always free for clinicians and will remain free.
2. Pricing
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars (USD). Prices are subject to change. Any price change will be communicated to active subscribers at least 30 days before taking effect. You will be billed at the price in effect at the time your order or renewal is processed.
3. Payment
We accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) processed through our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our servers. All transactions are encrypted via SSL/TLS. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees.
4. Recurring subscriptions
If you purchase a monthly or annual subscription, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will receive an email reminder at least 7 days before any annual renewal. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at billing@grouppracticeguide.com.
5. Refund policy
Featured listings (monthly): If you are not satisfied within the first 7 days of your first paid listing month, contact us for a full refund. After 7 days, the monthly fee is non-refundable but you may cancel to prevent future charges.
Featured listings (annual prepay): Refunds for unused months are available on a prorated basis within the first 30 days. After 30 days, annual prepayments are non-refundable.
Sponsored content / spotlights: Once a sponsored piece has been published on the site, no refund is available. If we are unable to publish within the agreed timeframe, a full refund will be issued.
Subscriptions: You may cancel any time. Cancellation stops future charges. No partial-month refunds are issued for monthly plans. Annual plans receive prorated refunds for unused months if cancelled within 30 days of purchase or renewal.
To request a refund, email billing@grouppracticeguide.com with your order details. We process refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer.
6. Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us, we reserve the right to dispute the chargeback and suspend your listing pending resolution. We encourage you to contact us first — we are committed to resolving billing issues fairly and promptly.
7. Taxes
Prices do not include applicable sales tax. Where required by law, sales tax will be added to your invoice at checkout based on your billing address. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your purchase under the laws of your jurisdiction.
8. No guarantee of results
Purchasing a featured listing or sponsored placement does not guarantee any specific number of views, clicks, applications, or hires. We make no representations about the number of clinicians who will view your listing. Our obligation is to display your listing as agreed — outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.
9. Cancellation by us
We reserve the right to cancel or remove any paid listing that violates our Terms of Use, contains false or misleading information, or is determined to be harmful to clinicians using the directory. In such cases, a prorated refund for unused time will be issued. We are not obligated to provide a refund if a listing is removed due to verified inaccuracy submitted by the practice itself.
10. Contact
For all billing questions: billing@grouppracticeguide.com
We aim to respond to all billing inquiries within 2 business days.
Terms for Practice Owners & Advertisers
1. Eligibility
Paid listings are available to licensed group therapy practices operating in the United States. We reserve the right to decline any listing application at our sole discretion. By purchasing a listing, you represent that your practice is a legitimate, legally operating mental health practice.
2. Accuracy of listing content
You are responsible for ensuring that all information in your listing is accurate, current, and not misleading. This includes but is not limited to: employment type (W2/1099), pay split, non-compete clause terms, licensure requirements, insurance panels, caseload expectations, and supervision arrangements. You agree to notify us promptly at listings@grouppracticeguide.com when any material information in your listing changes.
Providing false or misleading information in a paid listing may constitute deceptive advertising under the FTC Act (15 U.S.C. § 45) and applicable state consumer protection laws. We will remove listings found to contain materially false information without refund.
3. What "featured" means
Featured listings receive elevated placement in search results and may display a "Featured" or "Verified" badge. This badge indicates that we have made a verification attempt (typically a phone call or review of public records) — it does not constitute a guarantee of accuracy. The "Verified" label refers to our process, not a guarantee of the content.
4. No exclusivity
Purchase of a featured listing does not grant exclusivity in any geographic area, specialty, or license category. Multiple practices in the same city or state may hold featured listings simultaneously.
5. No editorial influence
Payment for a featured listing does not give you any right to influence, edit, or suppress other listings on the site, including listings of competing practices. We maintain full editorial independence over all non-paid directory content.
6. Clinician reviews and correction requests
Clinicians may submit correction requests or reviews about your practice through our public form. We review all such requests before publishing changes. You may respond to factual inaccuracies by contacting us at listings@grouppracticeguide.com with supporting documentation. We are not obligated to remove accurate negative information about your practice.
7. Intellectual property
By submitting a logo, description, or other materials for your listing, you grant GroupPracticeGuide.com a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display those materials on the site for the duration of your paid listing. You represent that you own or have the right to use all submitted materials.
8. Limitation of liability
GroupPracticeGuide.com's maximum liability to any paying advertiser is limited to the amount paid in the 30 days preceding the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or lost-profits damages arising from your listing.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by U.S. federal law and the laws of the state in which GroupPracticeGuide.com is registered. Any dispute arising from a paid listing shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved after 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules.

Before You Start Charging — Legal Checklist
🏢 Business structure
- Form an LLC — separates your personal assets from business liability. If a practice claims your listing damaged their reputation, they can only sue the LLC, not you personally. Cost: $50–$150 depending on state. File at your state's Secretary of State website. Recommended states if you have flexibility: Wyoming ($100, no state income tax) or Delaware ($90, very business-friendly law)
- Get an EIN (Employer Identification Number) — free, takes 5 minutes at irs.gov. Required to open a business bank account and for tax filing. Do not use your Social Security number for business transactions.
- Open a separate business bank account — never mix personal and business money. This is called "piercing the corporate veil" and can make you personally liable if you commingle funds. Any bank works — Relay, Mercury, or your local bank.
💳 Payment processing
- Set up Stripe or Square — Stripe is the industry standard for web-based businesses. Go to stripe.com, create an account under your LLC name, connect your business bank account. Stripe handles PCI compliance automatically so you never touch raw card numbers.
- PCI DSS compliance — if you use Stripe or Square, you are automatically covered. Never collect card numbers via email, phone, or a plain form. Always use a payment processor.
- Sales tax registration — selling digital advertising/listings is a service. Most states do not charge sales tax on digital advertising services, but some do (New York, Texas, and a few others). Register with your state's Department of Revenue to confirm. Use TaxJar ($19/month) to automate this once you scale.

💰 Tax obligations once you start earning
- Quarterly estimated taxes — once you earn money through the business, you owe estimated federal income tax quarterly (April 15, June 15, September 15, January 15). Set aside 25–30% of revenue for taxes.
- Self-employment tax — as an LLC owner, you pay 15.3% SE tax on profits in addition to income tax. A CPA can help structure this efficiently once revenue grows.
- Affiliate income is taxable — Headway, SimplePractice, etc. will issue a 1099-NEC if you earn over $600 from them in a calendar year. Keep records of all affiliate income.
- Hire a CPA — once earning regularly, a CPA costs $300–$800/year and saves far more than that in legal tax reduction strategies.
🛡️ Insurance (recommended, not legally required)
- General liability insurance — covers claims that your site caused harm or damaged a practice's reputation. Cost: ~$300–$500/year via Next Insurance or Hiscox. Get this before you start charging.
- Errors & Omissions (E&O) — covers you if a practice claims your listing contained errors that caused them financial harm. Important once you have paying customers. Cost: ~$500–$800/year.
⚠️ FTC rules for paid listings
- All paid/featured listings must be clearly labeled — "Featured," "Sponsored," or "Paid placement." Never mix paid listings into organic results without a label.
- Refund policy must be visible before checkout — already in your Billing Policy page.
- No fake reviews or fabricated testimonials on your site — FTC fines up to $51,744 per violation.
- Affiliate links must be disclosed — already done in your FTC Disclosure page.
📝 Contracts with paying customers
- When a practice buys a featured listing, they should check a box agreeing to your Terms for Practice Owners before payment is processed. Stripe Checkout supports this natively — add a checkbox linking to your commercial terms page.
- Keep a record (email confirmation) of every transaction. Stripe does this automatically.
